It was Saturday, April 6 when we woke up in Rome, and my kind bride had scheduled the most fitting activity I could possibly engage in at...

We arrived by train in Florence and navigated the throngs of tourists toward our AirBnb, a unit requiring climbing several flights of wooden stairs with steep rises....

For our 16th anniversary, we crashed joined in on our neighbors’ annual vacation destination and experienced our first adults-only, all inclusive, resort at the Excellence Playa Mujeres, and I’ve already booked it again for next November!

We visited our country’s newest National Park, New River Gorge, biked the Pisgah National Forest, and got good seats to my 4th Twenty One Pilots show and my 1st Rolling Stones show. I also spent 45 minutes in a cage surrounded by sharks at the Georgia Aquarium.

Oh, and the Braves won the World Series (right after the TOP show)!

As penultimate months of the year go, November 2021 did well.

October featured our 10th “high on the dog” photo of the children at Gnat’s Landing at Saint Simons Island, some shooting, some fishing, some biking, some fine dining, and our 10th consecutive coordinated family Halloween costume.

In September, we camped out at Oak Mountain State Park near Birmingham, celebrated my bride’s birthday in Austin, watched horses race at Churchill Downs in Louisville, and enjoyed nearly a week at The Breakers in West Palm Beach for a legal conference.

I’m gonna miss it.
